Pioneering in the gold sector. KHRYSOS’s state-of-the-art refining facilities offers the highest quality standards in line with refining, assaying, manufacturing as well as serving the mining industry.
KHRYSOS has obtained all licenses relating to processing, importing and exporting precious metals in a manner favourable with fiscal regime.
We will act ethically and with honesty, integrity and respect. We focus on constructing long-term relationships with our clients built on trust, dedication and commitment to continuously improve.
KHRYSOS uses different assaying methods:
The KHRYSOS-certified laboratory engineers use the Fire Assay Method, also known as the Cupellation Method to determine the concentration of Gold and Silver. A small sample of material has its precious metals chemically separated from the impurities and base metals contained in the material. The precious metals remaining are then compared to the original starting weight of the sample to determine the composition percentage. The Fire Assay analysis has an accuracy of 1 part in 10,000.ICP –
Induction Coupled Plasma
The ICP is a sophisticated hi-tech instrument used for detecting trace amounts of metals in a sample. The ICP is sensitive and accurate enough to detect elements down to parts-per-million (PPM). In an ICP analysis, a small sub-sample of the material is dissolved in several acids and the resulting liquid is vaporised at a very high temperature in a mass spectrometer. Reading the peaks of the mass spectrum output allows the operator to determine which metals are present and what
their concentration is.
The X-ray fluorescence is a non-destructive technique that is suitable for fast assaying
requirements. It has an accuracy of 5 parts per thousand and is well suited to relatively flat and smooth surfaces. It is a quick technique that takes about three to ten minutes and the computer can automatically print out the results. The content of other alloying metals is also measured.
KHRYSOS specialises in melting gold and silver through a High Performance Electric Induction Furnace. Our proficiency allows us to process gold and silver according to the client’s requirements while guaranteeing the highest degree of quality and accuracy. This environmentally friendly technique enables us to convert gold and silver into grains or bars of different sizes and purity levels.
The induction furnace delivers clean, energy-efficient melting capabilities through controlled processes and reduces production losses. It also decreases the risk of work injuries and fires, and by all means is safer than a traditional melting furnace.
KHRYSOS offers the highest quality and the finest capacity of chemical refining currently available in the world. We have exclusively developed our chemical process of gold and silver refining, in which we use advanced systems to purify scrap gold and silver as well as high-grade doré. Our knowledge and technical expertise ensure the best process for all gold and silver metal.
A chemical process removes the impurities from the precious metals by dissolving them. The end product is extremely pure bullion which can be casted in finished line bars or even jewels.
KHRYSOS continually explores refining technology developments to make its operations more efficient and cost effective. WE maintain a high standard of environmental friendliness. OUR output does not only emit clean fumes into the atmosphere, but also dispenses clean wastewater in the ecological system, in line with the highest norms implemented by the European Union and the United States of
KHRYSOS has a state of the art fume treatment plant in order to control air contaminants by reducing them at source.
The wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) at KHRYSOS raises the bar environmental responsibility by going beyond the primary (mechanical) and secondary (biological) into the tertiary level.
The Business Process
KHRYSOS accepts gold doré from a range of suppliers, including its own gold mines. This doré is tested at the KHRYSOS premises in a highly secure area.
Clients receive 90% of the gold purity identified directly by the X-Ray Fluorescence. The remaining 10% will be paid out after the results of the deep sampling and fire assay.
The refining process includes several steps, such as graining, melting, chemical baths and processing.
After the refining and casting process, the gold is physically delivered to the client.
